A beautiful DIY layered sand candle urn mimics the red and white stripes of the flag. It’s easy to create, just pour white sand into a clear urn or hurricane lamp, followed by a thin layer of red sand. Repeat until the sand is at the desired height, then insert a candle into the center of the sand. Source: BHG

I love this Strawberry Pie recipe my mom makes. The filling is so good I could make a dessert of it poured over vanilla ice cream and topped with sliced strawberries.
Ingredients:
1 pie crust shell, baked (9 – 12 inch pie pan)
Filling:
- 1-1/2 c water
- 1-1/2 c sugar
- 4 Tbsp corn starch
- 1 small box strawberry jello
- 2-1/2 qt strawberries, fresh (or more!!! for taller pie!!)
- Optional whipped cream or Cool Whip for topping or serve with vanilla ice cream
Directions:
- In a saucepan, whisk together water, sugar and cornstarch. Cook over medium heat about 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Add the strawberry Jell-O and whisk and stir until well blended and jello is dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool (don’t let it get set, just cooled).
- Wash the strawberries, pat dry, remove the hulls. Depending on how you want your pie to look, cut strawberries in half or leave them whole. Gently fold the strawberries into the Jell-O mixture.
- Pile the strawberries up in the baked pie shell to look like a hill.
- Refrigerate at least an hour.
- Serve as is or top with whipped cream, Cool Whip or vanilla ice cream.

If you’re handy with a sewing machine, a great way to cut your spring cleaning costs and reduce waste is to make your own washable Swiffer Covers.
Instead of buying refills at the store, sew up a few of your own covers out of terry cloth with a pattern you can find at Berlin’s Whimsy.

Is it time to tackle the burnt-on mess on the bottom of your oven before your next party or as part of your spring cleaning routine? If this is a chore you dread, baking soda makes it as easy as it gets, and your next meal won’t taste faintly of chemical cleaners.
Sprinkle baking soda liberally all over the bottom of the oven and spray it with water until it’s well dampened.
Leave solution on for a few hours then just wipe out the mess. Wipe with a solution of white vinegar to remove the baking soda film left behind and you’re done!
