Memorable Christening Invitations

December 17th, 2011

Christening InvitationsIt’s time for your baby’s christening and a wonderful time when family and friends gather together to celebrate the birth and christening of your baby.  When deciding on the date of the christening, make sure the special people in your child’s life, grandparents, aunts and uncles, have your chosen date free. Once you’ve decided on the date, secured the church and a place for a reception, if you are having one, it is time to choose christening invitations.

Compile your guest list by reviewing the list you used to send your baby’s birth announcements and/or your holiday greeting cards list. If you need an accurate count of who’s coming, be sure to use RSVP to your email address or phone number instead of regrets only. Using RSVP on your invitation can also help you keep costs under control and you will be able to stick to a budget and not over or under buy food, drinks, favors and such.

Pumpkin Chai Latte Recipe

November 22nd, 2011

Pumpkin Chai Latte Recipe

If you’re loving all things pumpkin this time of year, instead of spending $5 for a cup, make your own Pumpkin Chai Latte.  You could even steal a little pumpkin puree from the pie you’re going to bake to make your latte.

Ingredients per cup:
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon raw sugar (or regular)
  • 1-2 tablespoons pumpkin canned puree
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 – 1 cup strong coffee
  • 1/4 teaspoon chai spice and/or pumpkin pie spice
  • Whipped cream (or ice cream, vanilla or pumpkin)

In a sauce pan (or microwave safe cup) heat milk, spice and sugar until warm and bubbly and the sugar is dissolved. Whisk with a fork or whisk until foamy and light. (you can absolutely use an immersion blender, cappuccino foam attachment  or regular blender to make the ultimate frothy foam, but using a fork will cut down on cleanup.) Combine with pumpkin and vanilla. Pour desired amount of milk and pumpkin mixture into hot scented coffee. Garnish with whipped cream, ice cream (or both) and sprinkle with spice to garnish.

Hanukkah Invitations

Hanukkah Invitations

Every year, we see the beautiful blue and gold of Hanukkah invitations next to the red and green of Christmas party invitations. Hanukkah, also known as the Festival of Lights, is observed in Jewish homes by the kindling of lights on each of the festival’s eight nights, one on the first night, two on the second night and so on.

Hanukkah is a time to gather family and friends for the symbolic lighting of candles, eating of the traditional foods of Hanukkah, singing Hanukkah songs, and playing dreidel games. If you are planning to invite friends and family to join you in your Hanukkah celebration, why not mail beautiful custom printed Hanukkah invitations in the colors of the holiday, with menorahs, dreidels or the star of David.
